Kaley Bass of Davenport Captures 5th Round Of Barrel Racing in Vegas Rodeo

<p>Kaley Bass of Davenport won the fifth round in the barrel racing competition at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas on Monday night.</p><p>Bass earned $18,257 with the first-place finish, and leads the standings after six of 10 rounds with a total of about $30,600 in the Pro Rodeo championship.</p><p>Bass, at 19 the youngest competitor in all the different events, followed the win with a fourth-place finish in Round 6 to win $7,656.25 riding her 12-year-old horse, Wonders Cowboy Dan. </p><p>A first-time Finals qualifier, Bass started slowly, not placing in the first three rounds. But she took fifth in Round 4 to pocket $4,711.54, then won Round 5 and placed in Round 6 to move to the top of the standings with four rounds left.</p><p>There are 10 rounds, and Saturday is the final day.</p><p>For information, check http://prorodeo.com/.</p>
